Using Fabuloso isn’t rocket science. The multipurpose cleaner can be used on all hard non-porous surfaces such as tiles, glass, sealed wood stone surfaces, etc. When it’s the walls and non-floor surfaces, you can use it in a spray bottle but in this article, we’ll be looking specifically at mopping floors with Fabuloso.
How to Use Fabuloso? (To Mop Floors)
Here are the steps to use Fabuloso in the best possible way:
Step 1-Declutter the Area
Obstructions and messes can make it difficult to mop the floor or prevent you from doing a good job. Objects on the floor can make you trip while mopping or get tangled in the mop. This can cause scratch marks on the floor if you continue using the mop without detangling them.
Center tables, throw rugs, and small pieces of furniture should be moved so you can mop underneath them easily. It is also a good opportunity to clean these items. Cleaning them after you have mopped can make your floor dirty again. So avoid that.
Step 2- Sweep or Vacuum
You are going to make a mess on your floor if there’s accumulated dirt or dust on your floor before mopping with Fabuloso. Making that dust damp on your floor will make a sticky mess which can damage your floor or make it very difficult to mop.
You’ll spend more time and energy mopping than is required and you would have to rinse many times.
To avoid this, sweep your floor before mopping and use a dust pan to pack the dirt outside. Vacuuming may be easier and will do a more thorough job.
Step 3- Search and Identify Tough Stains
Mopping your floor is to remove dirt and grime. It won’t remove tough stains or marks from your floor. And when these stains remain after mopping, it feels like we did all that for nothing.
You should remove stubborn stains from your floor before mopping with Fabuloso generally.
If you have tiles on your floor, you can remove stains with baking soda or vinegar.
Baking soda
1- Make a paste with baking soda and water. A thick paste is recommended as it won’t create a mess and will do the job faster.
2- Smear the paste on the stain and let it sit for about an hour.
3- Use a soft sponge to scrub the spot for a few seconds, and use a damp towel to clear the mess.

Vinegar
1- Make a cloth damp with white vinegar. You shouldn’t soak the cloth because you don’t want the vinegar running all over the floor.
2- Place the damp cloth on the stain and leave it overnight. If the stain hasn’t been on the floor for long, about two or three hours is enough.
3- Remove the damp cloth and scrub the area gently with a sponge. Use a cloth damp with water to wipe it clean.

If you have a hardwood floor, you can use the vinegar method examined above. But to remove dark stains from your hardwood floor, you need hydrogen peroxide.
Hydrogen Peroxide
1- Spray a microfiber cloth with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Don’t get the cloth wet because excess can bleach your wood too much.
2- Dab the dark stain on your wood about three to four times with the cloth. If the stain is bad or has been on your wood for a long time, leave the cloth on the stain.
3- Check every 20 minutes to see if the stain has been removed and the spot has been returned to its original color.
4- Once you confirm this, wipe the area with a dry cloth. This prevents the wood from bleaching more than necessary.
Step 4- Mix Fabuloso for Mopping
After removing the stains on the floor, you are now ready to mop. But first, mix Fabuloso with water. You need 1/4 cup of Fabuloso for every 1 gallon of water. You can use hot water if you wish. This aids disinfection and you spend less time cleaning since dirt are removed faster.
Step 5- Start Mopping
Dip your mop into your mop bucket several times to mix the Fabuloso with the water thoroughly. Wring out excess water from the mop and start mopping your floor.
Few things to note while mopping:
- Mop your floor going side to side, making sure every inch is covered. Moving your mopping stick forward and backward may not be very effective and it can be difficult to track your progress.
- Don’t forget to start from the back of the room to the door while mopping. This ensures you won’t have to step on the area you have mopped after you are done.
- Dip and wring out your mop as many times as possible until you finish mopping. As soon as your mop gets dirty or feels dry, dip it into the bucket and wring it out. Then start mopping again.
- Don’t mop with dirty water. As soon as the Fabuloso solution in the mop gets dirty, change it. Mopping your floor with dirty Fabuloso water will do more harm than good. It could even cause the spreading of germs on your floor.
Rinsing isn't necessary after mopping with Fabuloso because it doesn't leave residues. Just open the windows and wait for the floor to dry. Then you can start walking confidently on your floor.
