People want to get that wonderful fragrance that comes with Fabuloso but they always want to get more disinfecting that Fabuloso offers. Hydrogen peroxide is generally used for disinfecting purposes. So can it be mixed with Fabuloso? Let’s find out!
Can You Mix Fabuloso With Hydrogen Peroxide?
You can safely mix Fabuloso with hydrogen peroxide to get a powerful cleaning solution that can kill germs, viruses, and bacteria on surfaces it is used on. Mixing these two products won’t produce a visible reaction that can hurt you when spilled.
When Should You Use this Solution?
You should consider mixing Fabuloso and H2O2 when you want to achieve the following:
1- Kill Mold & Mildew
Using Fabuloso alone can clean mold and mildew from hard non-porous surfaces. Though it won’t necessarily kill mold, it will help you get rid of it easily.
Fabuloso however cannot be used to kill mold on porous surfaces because the cleaner is not designed for such surfaces. Also, Fabuloso won’t be able to penetrate those surfaces and kill mold spores inside them. It will only work on the surface.
When Fabuloso is however mixed with hydrogen peroxide a strong solution is created that can kill mold and mildew on porous surfaces, and also kill mold spores.
You only need to spray the solution on the surface and let it sit for about 20 minutes. The hydrogen peroxide kills the mold and the Fabuloso ensures the mess is cleaned effectively with no stain left.
2- Whiten Fabric
Fabuloso is not meant for washing fabric, but when it is mixed with hydrogen peroxide, it becomes a great bleaching agent for your fabric.
The solution can be used to remove stubborn stains from fabric by spraying the affected spot, leaving it for a few minutes, and then washing it.
The solution can also be used to whiten dull or discolored fabric, especially white clothes that have lost their shine. It can also be used to sanitize fabric.
3- Whiten Toilet
Fabuloso is an excellent cleaner for toilet bowls and tanks but it may not be able to remove tough stains and discolorations from them.
When you mix Fabuloso with hydrogen peroxide, you get an effective solution that can remove discolorations from porcelain and ceramic toilets in a few minutes.
Spray the solution on the stains, rings, and discolorations, and leave it for about 30 minutes. Scrub thoroughly with a brush and rinse.
You can also use this solution to whiten grout lines on your wall and floor tiles.
4- For Disinfecting
Fabuloso cleans well but it is not a good disinfectant. It won’t kill the germs on the surfaces you clean. But mixing Fabuloso with hydrogen peroxide creates a powerful disinfectant for your home.
Bacteria, viruses, and fungi can be greatly reduced in your home by spraying this solution on contact surfaces and wiping them off after a few minutes.
How to Safely Mix Fabuloso With Hydrogen Peroxide?
For Cleaning Floors
Step 1- Pour 1/4 cup of Fabuloso into 1 gallon of normal room temperature water. Mix it thoroughly.
Step 2- Add 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide and mix it with the solution. You can proceed to mop your floor after this.
It is common practice to mix Fabuloso with hot water before cleaning floors, to aid its effectiveness. As heating Hydrogen peroxide is dangerous (because it becomes unstable), you should avoid this practice when mixing it with Fabuloso.
For Disinfecting!
You will need a spray bottle for this. It will be easier to get the solution to all the corners of the house that needs to be disinfected.
Step 1- Fill your spray bottle with water until it is 3/4 full. Use the right size spray bottle for the task so you don’t have to fill the bottle numerous times.
Step 2- Pour about 8 tablespoons of Fabuloso multi-purpose cleaner into the spray bottle. Shake it to mix the solution.
Step 3- Fill the spray bottle up with hydrogen peroxide and shake it again. This mixture is more potent than the first one mentioned and will disinfect faster.
You can also use this method when removing stains from fabric. Don’t let the solution stay too long on the fabric without rinsing.
For Mold Removal!
You need a strong mixture of the two cleaners for more effectiveness
Step 1- Mix 1 cup of Fabuloso with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and mix thoroughly.
Step 2- Pour the solution into a spray bottle. You can mix this solution with 1/2 cup of water if the surface is delicate and you don’t want a solution that is too strong. This isn’t necessary though.
Spray the surface until it is saturated and wait for a few minutes, to allow the solution to kill the mold on the surface and the mold spores within it.
