Folks always want to know the right cleaner-to-water ratio to get the most out of their cleaning solutions. In this article, we will be discussing when to dilute Fabuloso and when not to dilute it for cleaning.
Fabuloso Dilution!
Generally, a quarter (1/4) cup of Regular Fabuloso or Fabuloso Complete needs to be diluted in a gallon (128 Ounces or 3.78 liters) of water. The water that should be used should not be too hot or too cold but simply room-temperature water.
Fabuloso can be used diluted or undiluted to clean hard surfaces around the home. Each method has its pros and cons, but using diluted Fabuloso is safer and recommended.
4 Reasons You Need to Dilute Fabuloso!
You should dilute Fabuloso every time you want to use it because that’s what the manufacturers recommend. There are instances where Fabuloso is used undiluted, but for situations, we will be listing below, Fabuloso should always be diluted before use.
1- For Wood Cleaning
When cleaning your hardwood floors, wood cabinets, and furniture, you should always dilute Fabuloso. Wood is delicate and can easily be stained and damaged.
Cleaning your hardwood floor with undiluted Fabuloso can leave streaks, stains, and marks on them which can be difficult to remove.
2- If You are Sensitive
Fabuloso comes in different scents that can be very overwhelming. Diluting it before use makes it better and makes it less likely to give you a headache, nausea, etc. So if you are sensitive or will be using Fabuloso around people that are sensitive, like babies, always dilute it.
3- When Boiling
People often boil Fabuloso on the stove to make their house smell nice, even though it isn’t advisable. To do this, you need to dilute the Fabuloso first. Boiling undiluted Fabuloso is dangerous and can react negatively.
4-For General Cleaning
For mopping or general floor wiping with rags or sponges, Fabuloso should not be used in an undiluted state as it is a waste. Otherwise, you would use the whole bottle in a single cleaning session.
Instances When You Need Fabuloso Undiluted!
1- Stain Removal (Tough Ones)
If you have cleaned a hard non-porous surface (such as glazed tile, stainless steel, ceramic, sealed wood, etc.) but still notice there are stains left that didn’t budge despite scrubbing hard, you may try undiluted Fabuloso.
The strong concentration of the cleaner may break down the stains and make it easier for you to clean them off.
2- For Non-Routine Deep Cleaning
If there’s a surface in your home you don’t clean often, grime, dust, and dirt would have built up on the surface making it very dirty and difficult to clean.
Diluted Fabuloso may not be very effective at getting rid of all that caked-on dirt, so you should try undiluted Fabuloso. But first, make sure the surface won’t be damaged by the cleaner by testing it in a small area.
How Do You Dilute Fabuloso for a Spray Bottle?
The manufacturers recommend that 1/4 cup of Fabuloso should be added to 1 gallon of water, but it can be difficult to get the right ratio when using spray bottles.
Spray bottles for cleaning solutions can generally hold 16 ounces of fluid. That is about 0.125 gallons. This would mean that in a spray bottle of 16 ounces, you will need to add 4 fl oz of Fabuloso to maintain the ratio.
A standard tablespoon in U.S. can hold about 0.50 fl oz of fluid. So a spay bottle would need about 8 tablespoons of Fabuloso.
1- Put 8 tablespoons of Fabuloso in a spray bottle.
2- Then fill up your spray bottle with water. You can use hot water if you intend to disinfect.
3- Shake the bottle well, and it is ready for use.
Final Thoughts!
Diluting Fabuloso does not reduce its effectiveness and it is more affordable in the long run. You can however use it undiluted if it won’t damage the surface you are cleaning and the occasion calls for it.
