You are probably using Fabuloso to clean your kitchen countertops, bathrooms, floors, sealed wooden furniture, walls, and other hard surfaces. What about stainless steel? There are plenty of items made of stainless steel, such as cutlery cookware, sinks, and appliances. Can you use Fabuloso to clean such items?
Can You Use Fabuloso on Stainless Steel?
Fabuloso can be used to clean certain items and surfaces made of stainless steel because stainless steel is non-porous and hard. However, note that Fabuloso should not be used to clean any items made of stainless steel that handle food.
Stainless steel is an iron and chromium alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion and thus does not rust. This makes it extremely suitable for making appliances that use water, sinks, and cooking utensils. The pH level of Fabuloso is 7 (neutral) which makes it safe to be used on stainless steel.

How To Use Fabuloso on Stainless Steel?
Most households have various items and appliances that are made of stainless steel, such as:
- Kitchen sinks
- Microwaves
- Refrigerators
- Ovens
- Dishwashers
- Washing machines

- Countertops
- Cutlery
- Cookware
- Steel cabinets
- Scissors, pocketknives, other tools, and equipment
As mentioned above, any items that handle food, such as cookware, cutlery, and the inside of the microwave and oven should NOT be cleaned with Fabuloso.
The Fabuloso website specifies that it is not intended to be used on dishes, so it is reasonable to conclude that other items that handle food should not be cleaned with Fabuloso either.
Below are instructions on how to clean the various items using Fabuloso.
First, Gather the following equipment:
- Gloves
- Spray bottle with ⅛ cupful of Fabuloso and water
- Clean sponge
- Clean cloth
- Basin of water
Kitchen Sinks
STEP 1- Empty the entire sink, so you can clean it easily. Take away all the dishes and other utensils out and drain out the standing water.
STEP 2- Turn on the tap and splash water around the sink. This will help in loosening any stuck food particles. Warm water is preferable.
STEP 3- Spray Fabuloso around the sink, covering all corners.
STEP 4- Now, Scrub gently with the sponge, reaching the corners, taps, and the drain.
STEP 5- To remove any grease, pour a little Fabuloso directly onto the sponge and scrub.
STEP 6- Run the tap and rinse out the sink completely.
STEP 7- Wipe with a cloth to prevent water marks from forming.
The kitchen sink should be cleaned daily to avoid the build-up of grease and grime and to prevent foul odors.
Appliances
Avoid cleaning the inside of appliances such as microwaves, fridges, ovens, and dishwashers as these handle food items. The smell of Fabuloso is strong and lasts for a long time, so you do not want it to permeate your food. You can clean the outside of these appliances as below:
STEP 1- Spray the exterior of the appliance with the Fabuloso spray.
STEP 2- Use the sponge and scrub gently.
STEP 3- If there are a lot of residues, take a damp cloth and wipe the entire area.
STEP 4- Wipe again with a dry cloth to prevent water marks.
You can clean the interior of the dishwasher, fridge, and microwave using a mild dish soap and water solution. For the appliances that have removable parts, take them out and run them under warm water. Clean these parts using dish soap and water and let them air dry.
Countertops
If you have steel countertops, do the following:
STEP 1- Clear out any items from the countertops.
STEP 2- Spray the Fabuloso solution covering the entire area.
STEP 3- Scrub in a circular motion to remove any dirt and grease.
STEP 4- If there is built-up grime, pour some Fabuloso on the sponge directly and gently scrub the area clean.
STEP 5- Dip the cloth in the basin and rinse out the countertop to remove the Fabuloso solution.
STEP 6- Dry the area again with another cloth to prevent the formation of water spots.
Stainless Steel Items
Items such as scissors, pocketknives, and garden tools can also be cleaned using Fabuloso as below:
- Pour some Fabuloso on a sponge and gently scrub the items clean.
- Rinse the items under running water.
- Wipe the items dry with a clean, dry cloth.
What Should You Not Use on Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel needs to be maintained and cleaned regularly, as it is easy to notice fingerprints, dirt, and grease on this kind of surface. However, as explained below, certain items should not be used to clean stainless steel.
1- Abrasive scouring pads: This will leave scratch marks and dull the item’s surface or finish. This also includes avoiding steel wool. (Source)

3- Products containing ammonia: Ammonia can cause corrosion on stainless steel, so it is best to avoid using it and any products that contain ammonia.

5- Hard water: Hard water has a higher mineral content and so can leave spots, even after cleaning. You can use a water softener to avoid this problem.
